FAQ
The Answers You Need
WHAT IS A LASH LIFT?
What is a Lash Lift?
It's a lifting technique designed to give you longer-looking lashes without the need for lash extensions. It will look as if you used a really good eyelash curler, only this lift lasts for 6 to 8 weeks! To top off the treatment, I'll apply a black lash tint which really makes your lashes look more prominent. The procedure takes about 45 to 60 mins to complete. It really is an easy way to instantly brighten and open up the eye area!
How do I need to prep for the treatment?
PLEASE ARRIVE TO YOUR APPOINTMENT COMPLETELY FREE OF EYE MAKE UP! Also, you must stop usage of waterproof mascara at least 2 days prior to your Lift! If you wear contacts, they must be removed.
Is this like lash extension where they will look dramatically thicker?
Lash extensions and lash lifts are 2 totally different animals. I will not be adding any additional lashes to you. I will simply be curling your natural lashes. That said, for most, it can make your lashes appear fuller because they are so uplifted.
What are the post treatment instructions?
Pretty simple: Don't get your lashes wet or apply anything at all to them for 24 hours. Steer clear of waterproof mascara the entire life of your Lift. Brush out the lashes daily.
Can I book this on the same day as a facial?
Absolutely!
Is there any maintenance?
None at all! You don't have to do anything special with your lashes in between lifts other than giving them a good brush out daily and stay away from waterproof mascara.
Can I still wear mascara?
Of course! You'll just achieve a more dramatic effect when mascara is applied to your curled lashes.
Why can’t I wear waterproof mascara?
Harsh chemicals are used in waterproof formulas in order to make them, well.... waterproof. This chemical composition is extremely drying to your lashes. Not to mention all the effort and extra tugging and pulling on the lashes to remove the mascara. To be honest, most people are not great at thoroughly removing the mascara. If that’s the case, now you’re running around with this super drying film of chemicals on your lashes 24 hours a day. This results in weakened lashes that are prone to breakage, and over shedding.
Why do I have to stop wearing waterproof mascara 2 days before?
Pretty much for all the reasons I just stated above. If you are a regular waterproof mascara wearer, then you are already walking in the door with dehydrated and weakened lashes, which will result in a poor Lift and possible further damage.
How is this treatment any different than a lash perm?
Some of the lash perms of years past use tiny little rods that product a way too inverted curl. Others, use a type of lash curler/clamp which can be uncomfortable and difficult to work with. This method uses silicon domed shields that lift the lashes from the root, producing a beautiful, uplifted look as if you used a high quality eyelash curler.
Will this damage my eyelashes?
No, if you follow all the advice on Pre prep and Post care. The lifting solutions are only applied to the new growth area of the lashes, down towards the base and up a bit. Never to the ends of the lashes.
Are some lashes resistant to the curl?
I have found, on occasion, that it's very difficult and sometimes not possible to sustain the curl with lashes that have a strong cowlick or slanted growth pattern. Also, growth patterns due to plastic surgery in the eye area are often not able to be corrected. At least give the treatment a try once, and see how your lashes hold the curl.
Is it painful?
No. At first, when I'm applying the shields to the eyelids, it may feel a bit strange. But, for the most part, it's very relaxing! You just kick back and relax :)
I use Latisse®. Can I get this treatment?
Yes. Some of the most dramatic results I've achieved have been from those using Latisse® because their lashes are already so long.
I have downward-pointing lashes, will this be a good treatment for me?
Heck yes! Anyone with these types of pesky lashes will love the lash lift! Post treatment, your lashes will all be evenly dispersed and lifted.
How long does the effect last?
Depending on the length and quality of your natural lashes, the lift can last for 6 to 8 weeks.
I have very very short lashes. Am I able to still do this procedure?
Most of the time, yes. Though it can be challenging if the lashes aren't even long enough to bring up and back on to the shield. But give it a shot once and see how you do!
I have glaucoma, can I have this procedure?
Yes. If ever in doubt, always consult with your physician.
I've recently had blepharoplasty surgery, can I have this procedure?
You need to wait at least 1 year from your surgery. It has been my experience with clients who have had this surgery that there is an increased sensitivity in the eye area for quite a while. You need to give yourself that time to heal first. After that, you can consult with your physician to be sure.
I've recently had lasik surgery, can I have this procedure?
Yes, but you need to wait at least 6 months. As always, when in doubt, please consult with your physician.
Who is this procedure NOT good for?
Chronic dry eye, conjunctivitis, damaged lashes or lashes with gaps (this treatment may make the gaps more noticeable), active eye infections of any kind, trichotillomania (habitual pulling out of lashes), recent chemo treatments (you will need to wait at least a year from your last treatment. When in doubt, always consult with your physician.)
TINTING
How long does the color last?
Approximately 3 to 4 weeks. Chlorine and daily use and removal of waterproof mascara can shorten the life of the color.
How should I prep for my Tinting appointment?
Prep mainly only applies to the lashes. So for Lash Tinting, PLEASE ARRIVE COMPLETELY FREE OF MASCARA.
Does it sting when you're applying the color?
It's possible to feel some discomfort if your eyes water causing the color to seep or during the removal phase. But usually, it's a very quick and comfortable service.
My eyebrows have been Microbladed. Is it still ok for me tint them?
Absolutely! As long as you have completed all your microblading appointments (the initial appointment and the touch up appointment) and are completely past your few weeks of healing, it's totally fine. I have clients who still tint even though they have permanent make up. Sometimes, if you have really blonde hairs or grey, it can start to look a bit strange with the microblading or permanent make up. So I will usually try to match up the color of your dye to the color used for your microblading.
What if I wear contacts?
You will need to remove your contacts prior to your service.
What is brow lightening?
Some people have very dark eyebrows that overpower their face. The tendency is to want to thin the brows out with wax. But a better solution is to subtly lighten the color of the brows to lessen their intensity. In some cases, I may even redeposit a color over the top of the lightened brows to fine tune the color.
Is there any special post care instructions?
Yes, you will want to go easy with your eyebrows when cleansing to extend the life of the dye. Obviously, if you scrub, peel etc at that area, the color is going to disappear much faster. Also exercise caution when applying any type of skin care products containing exfoliators (topical acne medications, retinol, lightening products, alpha hydroxy acids, etc) Keep all of these away from the brows as they will strip them of their color.
WHAT IS A PEEL TREATMENT?
What is the Peel Treatment?
This is the perfect way to refresh and revive your skin with no worries of downtime (though you may experience some slouging/peeling)! A quick service that be done during a lunch break. The peel, and what products I use will be totally customized based off of your skin care needs and goals. A package is always highly recommended as it will be way more effective than one treatment. Ideal for any skin type!
Is this safe for all skin types?
Yes! All skin types and ethnicities. The type of peel I choose to use is customized per client.
Who is this service NOT good for (CONTRAINDICATIONS)?
Currently sunburned (must wait until sunburn has cleared completely), Accutane used within the last year, open cuts/wounds or active skin infections/conditions, radiation treatments within the last year, on antibiotics and skin thinning prescription topicals. If in doubt, contact me and we'll discuss it.
What if I'm pregnant?
I have some lighter peels that can be used if you're expecting♥️
How long is this service?
30 minutes or less from check in to check out
How will this benefit my skin?
Depends on what issue we're treating and what peel I choose, but typically a reduction in acne/clogged pores, brighter and smoother skin, increased product absorption, reduction in fine lines, reduction in pigmentation issues.
Can I add this treatment in between facials or clean ups for enhanced results?
Absolutely!! We can chat about the best way to incorporate this during your visit.
What are the treatments details?
The steps in this treatment are cleanse, High Frequency (to kill bacteria and help prevent breakouts), customized peel solutions applied, removal of peels (if applicable, some peels stay on skin), solution applied to rebalance the PH of your skin, serums and sunscreen and moisturizer applied to complete.
What do I have to do BEFORE my service?
Check the Contraindicated list, and stop all use of retinol products about a week prior. If you have really sensitive skin or are prone to allergies, I suggest you come in for a patch test prior to scheduling this appointment.
What do I have to do AFTER my service?
Simple, use sunscreen and any other products I have recommended to you.
How much is the Peel Treatment?
$50 per treatment, or save a few bucks and purchase the package (highly recommended) of 3 for $130
If I decide to do the package, how long in between treatments?
This will vary based on the individual client and the condition being treated, but typically every 2 to 3 weeks. For some, every 4 weeks.
Will the peel hurt?
Everybody has a different tolerance level. That said, it's usually pretty comfortable. Expect to feel a mild to moderate sting and/or itchy feeling.
What can I expect immediately after the treatment?
Some redness, and possible skin sensitivity.
What can I expect a few days later?
Some clients a few days post treatment may experience light peeling or sloughing. Everyone's skin and the products I will use on them are different.
Will I break out?
Every client is different. Most of the time, no breakout is expected. However, some clients who are currently battling acne may experience a mild purge.
WAXING- FAQ
If it is your first time waxing you may have a few questions. So here are a few suggestions to make your first time go smoother and to ease your mind before your service. Always feel free to TEXT/EMAIL ANY questions you may have.
HOW TO PREPARE:
The hair needs to be a quarter of an inch long (about the length of your bottom eyelashes) which is about 10-14 days without shaving. If your hair is too short the wax will not be able to adhere to the hair and you may have too reschedule your appointment.
The PAIN?
~is a stinging pain.
~Lasts 3 or 4 seconds and then the pain goes away...until the next strip is pulled. It will not hurt when you leave.
~everyone's "WORST" spot is different. 95% of ladies who wax say the top area is the most painful.
PAIN RELIEF:
~30 to 45 minutes before wax appointment
~Ibuprofen is recommended for anti-inflammatory effect
When we say,"The Bikini Plus Wax and The Brazilian Wax include the back" we mean in between your butt cheeks. This is by far the easiest part of the waxing experience.
INGROWN HAIRS:
Exfoliation is the best treatment of ingrown hairs associated with waxing. The best method I have found is using shower gloves or a body brush in every shower everyday and a sugar scrub 1 to 3 times per week. If you are still having problems then there are products you can use to treat them, such as TendSkin or Finipil. Also, wearing cotton underwear will help. We all love the sexy, lacy panties but these should be saved for "special occasions" and not for everyday wear. The friction from the lace causes ingrowns.
The first time is ALWAYS the worst. Waxing gets better the more you do it. It is recommended to come in every 4 to 6 weeks for a touch-up or maintenance wax to avoid any unnecessary pain.
REGROWTH:
You will start to notice new growth about 2 weeks after your wax but it will be 4 to 6 weeks before it is long enough to wax again, depending on how fast your hair grows. Even at this point it will still not all be fully grown in like after shaving.
CAN I GET WAXED IF I’M ON MY PERIOD?
Yes. However, please make sure you are wearing a tampon. I always have wipes available to freshen up prior to your wax. Most women notice they are more sensitive while they are on their periods, as well as 3 days before and after.
CAN I GET WAXED IF I’M PREGNANT?
Yes. However, just as waxing while on your period, you may be a lot more sensitive.
WHAT KIND OF WAX DO YOU USE?
I use soft wax which uses the strips to remove. Hard wax often doesn’t pick up the tiny vellus hairs (commonly called “baby hair”) like soft wax does. And because soft wax also acts as a gentle exfoliator, the skin is left extra smooth. A layer of oil is always applied before the wax which acts as a barrier between your skin and the wax, minimizing the pain that some people associate with soft wax, plus it leaves your skin extra soft and supple. I have found that the hard wax can be more painful and problemsome than the soft wax because it often breaks hairs off at a weird angle which causes them to get trapped and potentially recoil underneath the skins surface, causing ingrown hairs.
MEN’S WAXING:
I do not offer 'BROzilian' waxes for men. However, I can refer you to someone who is highly trained in this area and would be happy to assist you. So feel free to contact me.
After a back wax, you may be red and have small bumps. The bumps usually disappear after an hour or two. If you happen to take a shower you may notice it feels like a slight sunburn. If you do notice you have a tendency to breakout try putting ice on your back or take a cold shower after your appointment.
INSIDER TIPS:
Avoid any scented lotions or soaps after your wax
Lightly exfoliate on a daily basis, shower gloves are highly recommended. Please wait 1 to 2 days after your appointment before you begin exfoliating.
Using a sugar scrub once or twice a week will further help prevent ingrown hairs.
EYELASH EXTENSIONS- FAQ
Eyelash Extensions are individual lashes attached to each of your own individual lashes using a medical grade adhesive.
The natural lash sheds itself after 60 to 90 days and at this point the eyelash extension will fall off with it. Most ladies who get eyelash extension return every 2 to 4 weeks for a fill-in.
A fill-in involves removing any lose lashes and replacing with a new extension and filling in any areas that need to be filled in.
Eyelash extensions are great for everyday wear for those who want EXTRA glam. They are also applied for one-time use for weddings or special occasions.
WHAT IS A CLEAN-UP?
Clean-up or face cleansing is extremely important to maintain a healthy and glowing complexion. A regular clean-up will help in getting rid of dead skin cells, surface debris, dirt, and excess oil and sweat. It will keep the skin hydrated.
If your skin is exposed to excessive sunlight, pollution and dirt, it is highly recommended that you opt for a face clean-up every 2 weeks. A clean-up includes cleansing, scrubbing, steam, and removal of blackheads and whiteheads. This treatment is finished by applying a soothing face mask. A clean-up is similiar to a facial, only quicker, cheaper and without the massage.

APPOINTMENT BOOKING
Why do you have your clients book online?
Convenience for both me and my clients. Due to the nature of my business, I keep my phone on silent all day while I'm at work. When I'm with a client, I do not take calls. And if my day is super busy with no breaks, this means there is no time for me to return calls. With the online system, now no one needs to wait for me to call them back. You can book anytime.
What if I don't have a computer or am not comfortable booking online?
Well, if you're reading this, you do indeed have a computer and/or smartphone...ahem... but moving on. While I definitely prefer you to please try and book online, if you absolutely aren't able to do so, it's no problem to either email me your appointment request or text me at 615-483-9362
How do I cancel an appointment?
Easy! Just log into to your appointment on Square and cancel your appointment. Please note my cancellation policy.
I don't remember when my appointment is! How do I check?
The system will automatically send you an appointment reminder (as long as you opted in for emails) 2 days before your appointment. Otherwise, you can log in to your Square account and check your appointment dates anytime. Also, you can opt in for text reminders! Just sign in to your account and follow the prompts.
How do I know how much time to book out?
No worries, every service already has a programmed service duration and will automatically book out the right amount of time.
What days are you off?
Sunday and Monday
